A Power Point Presentation Competition On the theme Of Gender Equality Was Held On 12th August 2016 In the Seminar Room. The competition was on the theme of gender issues such as domestic violence, female feticide, desires for a boy -the outcomes etc. The Show Was Hosted By Shubham Gupta And Pearl Single And Diksha Duggal of BCOM-III. The Judges For the Day Were Dean Dr. Rosy Walia And Dr. Manoj Kumar. 5 Teams Participated In the Event. Two were announced as the Winners .One was Mr. Manoj Kumar from BBA-III and Second Was Mr. Nischal Gulati from BCOM-III. They Were Also Awarded With Pens And Diaries And A Consolation Prize To Ms. Reena For Their Participation In the Event.
Gender sensitization society organized a one day awareness Programme in co-ordination with “Chandigarh Down Syndrome Society” of GMCH Sector-32 on 14 March 2016 on the theme “My Friends, My Community”. Dr. Gurjeet Kaur presided over the function and carried out an interactive session to create awareness amongst students about “Down Syndrome”. She discussed various types of precautionary test available to detect “Down Syndrome” during pregnancy. She also enlightened students regarding various other genetic disorders.
Registration & Orientation of new as well as old students for Gender Sensitization Society was held on 25th August 2015, in the college seminar room, wherein the students were made aware of the importance & purpose of the formation of the society.

National Girl Child Day is celebrated every year on 24th January as a National Observance Day for the girl child. This celebration was started off to offer more support and new opportunities to the females of our country. Gender Sensitization Society of our college celebrated this day by organizing a talk of Dr.Neelu (Phd),(Vice President of American Airlines) who is actively engaged with people suffering from mental Disorder. She interacted with the students regarding the inequalities faced by the girl child in our society and also compared the role of women & men with respect to two opposite countries in all respects ie America and India. She also emphasized that India is far richer in its culture and tradition when it comes to treatment of women on fairer terms and encouraged the students to be more Indian in their approach and acknowledge its value & worth. She motivated students to work with the society and for the society which would not only help them to understand role of a women/girls in the Indian context but will bring about gender equality too.
Gender Sensitization Society Collaboration with NSS on 16th December 2014 Arranged a talk during NSS Camp to sensitize the volunteers on GENDER and issues related to it, a guest-lecture was conducted by Ms. Prabhjot Kaur, State coordinator at State Resource Center for Women. She discussed the very primal institution of gender and why the youth should be aware and overt as to how they perceive gender equality and practice it. She came up with simple day-to-day examples and some of her real life experiences that made everyone ponder hard if everyone did their bit or not. This eye-opening seminar ended with a cheerful audience.
